Dr. Shimaa Ezzat Basha

Associate Professor

Dr. Shaimaa Basha is an Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Psychology Department at the University of Fujairah. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Helwan University, where she has been teaching since 2001. Dr. Basha has held academic and leadership roles at Princess Nourah University in Saudi Arabia and previously at the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah. Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate psychology courses, and she has supervised numerous theses. In 2022, she founded the Counseling and Happiness Center at her current university, promoting psychological well-being in the community. She has led quality assurance, e-learning, and academic support initiatives and served on various research and curriculum committees. Dr. Basha is a reviewer for academic journals and has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles. She is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and an advocate for innovation in psychology, education, and community mental health.
